Problem resolution
Problems occur daily. No credit union is immune. And, most credit union managers have developed skills for addressing and resolving problems. But problems come in different sizes and degrees of complexity. Too often the management reaction is to quickly fix the problem and make it go away. Sometimes resolving one problem creates another. There are times when a well intentioned manager might develop a solution to a problem, put that solution in motion, delegate to subordinates, and then fail to monitor the results. Unfortunately the solution may have missed the mark or failed to solve the problem.
There are other business problems that require more analysis and thought. The best approach is to identify the problem's root causes without being distracted by the problem's symptoms. When the root cause of the problem is understood then it is time to introduce creative new ideas for problem solving. This requires identifying viable problem resolution alternatives and recommending the optimum course of management action. Call Strategic Mark if you have a problem that requires special attention and targeted plan of action. The approach will include conducting quarterly or semi-annual plan reviews for thorough problem resolution if you choose. Problem resolution is a process not an event. (Ask about the orthodontist.)
